I loved the courtyard and private upper terrace, the garden, the location and the property had everything you could need. There was a lot of attention to detail. Being greeted by Florian was lovely and he and the housekeeper were delightful. Helpful and very friendly. Florian met me at the port with my luggage having stored it for me until my ferry arrived. Much appreciated.

Poros is a great island to visit and many come by yacht small and large because the harbour stretches the length of the town. All along the edge of the water are cafés, bars and restaurants. The architecture of the old buildings is beautiful. There is even a rule that all roofs must be terracotta tiles! The beaches aren’t the best I’ve been to in Greece but there are some decent ones on the main part of the island away from the town.

Fantastic island, vibrant yachting community.
Fantastic island, vibrant yachting community. Ferries from Athens drop you in the centre of Poros. Stunning walk along harbourfront, views to the sea and mainland and the beautiful hilltop town. Very good restaurants with cheap and fresh seafood. Lots of shops, inexpensive supermarkets and bakeries. Good walking around the island with marked footpaths. Great beaches nearby, nearest 10 mins on foot. Free minibus around main part of the island and inexpensive taxis. All round great destination for all ages.

Poros is one of the most underrated islands of Greece, indeed. It's very small but beautiful, serene, calm , clean, quite and picturesque. Only 1hr 15minutes ferry travel from Piraeus port of Athens. There are lots of restaurants, caffe, supermarkets, shops. All types of food are available there including Greek food specially. People are welcoming, friendly and very generous. If needed laundry shops are there too. The clock tower is an added area where people can go see the entire island from bird's view. It's not so expensive like Mykonos and Santorini. But one can get the flavours of Santorini or Mykonos there. As a whole it's worth visiting Poros.

Calm, non touristy. Good food.
Calm, non touristy. Good food. Easy to walk or get a cab anywhere. We were off season (late September) and came by ferry for a few days break from Athens but have been before in high season in our yacht and it was good then too. Ate at Dimitris and Apagio Tavern, great meat and fish at the market, good coffee and lunch at clock cafe, good bakery and great ice cream and helpful pharmacy in the square by the meat and fish market.

Poros is an authentic, laidback Greek island, which also happens to be a major stop-off for yacht charters and flotillas. But, if you're not a yachtie, (we're not) they don't spoil the feel too much.
Only a few paces away from the yacht berths, you can find ouzeries where they still give you proper, free mezes with your drink, as you watch the old boys play backgammon and shoot the breeze. Or you can relax in more upmarket, restaurants and bars - but you've come to Greece, be more Greek! If you're in the square boasting Destino's Kafeneion, the locals' bar next door and Pavlou Shop which sells "plumbing fixtures, beach equipment and church supplies" you're in the right place.
The hotel is situated in a highly convenient location allowing easy access to beaches and to the main town, all within easy walking distance. The hotel is well maintained and managed and the staff at the hotel were both exceptionally welcoming and very helpful with any requests. The breakfast provided was plentiful and varied and even satisfied my fussy child!! The pool area is excellent and was heartily enjoyed by us. I would highly recommend staying at the Saga Hotel - it felt like a home away from home, like we were part of the family.
To lie on perfect white cotton sheets in the early morning with the curtains billowing in on the gentlest warm Saronic breeze and gaze across to the islands scattered in the blue pink light is to experience the image you dreamed of made real..
Book the top floor.. the pain of the punishing steps up easily outweighed by the gain... they are a killer especially if you've already manhandled luggage up from the town. Taxi advised.. 5 € without luggage 7€ with..
Host was excellent and dealt with our minor issues immediately..
Odyssey Suites is an absolutely beautiful little hotel on the Island of Poros.. All with lovely views of the sea. Fabulous balconies to watch the sunset while looking down on the roof top herb garden with bougainvillea growing freely. . Beautifully decorated. Nothing was too much trouble. We managed to stay another night and Dora couldn't be more accommodating. The breakfasts were amazing. You could never go hungry here. Dinner was equally delicious. Dora is one of the nicest people ever. We can't wait to go back.
Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything needed for an overnight stay on Poros. Very conveniently located for the ferries both across from Galatas and to Idra island. Despite being quite central it was quiet. There was also a cafe very close for an early breakfast before getting on the ferry. A bonus was also having a proper (Nespresso) coffee machine in the room with pods provided although we took our own.
Everything was great. Apartment is specious and perfectly clean, beds are comfortable, swimming pool fabulous, restaurant is tasteful, hosts are willing to help. Parking space nearby is easy to find. A small suggestion, that the rooms are cleaned in a similar time every day, so guests could know when their apartment is available. In any case, we would definitely recommend Helen Hotel everyone who wants to explore beautiful island of Poros.
Wonderful hotel with perfect location right next to the ocean, and such a lovely staff! It is even more amazing in real life compared to pictures - like stepping into a Greek painting. Can’t think of anything to complain about: we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest and will surely come back one day to the lovely island of Poros <3
The hotel is a beautiful old building dated 1826 with big comfortable rooms and a
nice view to the port. Very close to the chora and close to the most beautiful beeches of poros. Alexis, the manager of the hotel is very kind, helpful and made our stay even more comfortable. Great place, recommend 100%
The location of the apartment was perfect, in a residential area secluded by trees on top of a slight hill but within 2 minutes' walk to the beach and restaurant/hotel area. A bit of a walk from the port - about 30 minutes, but it's only a 5 euro taxi ride if you're not in the mood to walk.
The hotel is really nice, located in Poros town. The room we stayed was nicely decorated and had a very nice view on the sea. The owner is a really nice lady, very helpful and kind. The ratio quality/price is also very interesting.
The location is excellent, the room was clean with a beautiful view to the sea, walking distance to everything including to the beach of Kanali. Sophia the hostess was kind, caring and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel
the view was super
it was near to everything in town
cleaness also was awesome
and the value for money was perfect
The Owner did her best to make our stay comfort in the flat and she helped us to explore around the island
The location is perfect, best views of Poros village in whole island.
The private beach is the nicest of all (not many options).
The whole staff were EXTREMELY helpful and nice. Very keen to help and facilitate your stay.
Our room was spacious, in excellent condition and with all the amenities one could desire. The breakfast was the best we've had at a hotel on a Greek island, served on the top floor where the view was exceptional.
The hotel is close to the port of Poros and some good restaurants. Also, there is not a lot of noise.
The room and the views were lovely.
The personnel was very helpful and kind with us all the time.
Poros is a lovely laid back resort and Christina’s studios is an ideal base from which to enjoy the island Spotlessly clean nice diced apartment with friendly helpful owners all you could wish for
Beautiful house with a lot of charm and great sea views. 30min walk from Poros town. Hosts graciously allowed us to adjust the checkin/checkout dates even after free cancellation period was over.
but the location of the hotel was very good and the balcony has a very good view and the restaurant of the hotel was very good for us it was the best restaurant in Poros island.
The locations is perfect. From the room is fantastic view to the see. The beach is just about 100 meter from the hotel. Thanks to Nymfodora everything was wonderful.
A cosy hotel near the beaches, really peaceful but at a walking distance from the city center. The staff is amazing, dear people that make you feel at home.
